Avoid Injury With These Holiday Safety Tips

The holiday season is full of joy and excitement. Unfortunately, there are many safety hazards lurking, too. Should you be unable to avoid these, there’s a good chance you’ll suffer an injury that turns this joyous time of the year sour.

Here are some of the most common causes of holiday injuries. Be sure to protect against these:

• Fall from height: It’s fun to string holiday lights on your home, but it’s also dangerous if you don’t take the right safety precautions.

• Heavy lifting: Maybe you purchased a large item to gift to a loved one. Or maybe you need to transport your storage containers full of holiday decorations. Regardless of what you’re doing, don’t attempt to lift any item that’s too heavy for you to handle.

• Electrocution: For many people, the holiday season is all about lights, lights, and more lights. Take safety precautions to protect against electrocution, such as by inspecting all your lights before you put them into use.

We want you to enjoy the holiday season, so do whatever it takes to maintain your safety. Remember: if something doesn’t look or sound safe, it probably isn’t!
