Some people suffer from hand cramps time and time again, while others never experience the pain and discomfort (which is good for them).
There’s no shortage of causes of hand cramps, such as:
Overuse of the hands, forearm, and/or fingers
Dehydration
Arthritis
Diabetes
Electrolyte imbalance
As you can see, some of these causes are more serious than others, so this isn’t an ailment to ignore.
Some off the best home remedies include:
Stretching before and after activities that can cause hands to cramp
Massaging the muscles
Applying cold or heat to the area
Increasing fluid intake
For example, if your hand cramps are caused by dehydration, drinking water can bring you eventual relief. While doing so, you can also experiment with stretching and massaging the area, followed by ice or heat therapy for 10 to 15 minutes.
Just the same as any type of muscle cramp, those in your hand are painful enough to stop you dead in your tracks. Knowing the cause and possible treatments can bring you relief.
