Effective Home Remedies for Razor Burn

Let’s face it: razor burn is an absolute pain in the you know what. No matter how hard you try to avoid it, it sneaks up on you time and time again.

The next time it strikes you – and it won’t be long – here are some home remedies to experiment with:

•    Don’t touch the area: No matter how much it itches, leave the skin alone for the time being. If you scratch or rub it, you can expect to experience additional inflammation and irritation. Not to mention the fact that it can lead to infection. Talk about a simple remedy!

•    Use cool compresses: Rather than touch your skin with your hands, use a cool compress. This is nothing more than a cool washcloth that you place on your skin for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. It can do wonders for eliminating razor burn.

•    Apply natural oils: There are a variety of natural oils that are known to hydrate and soften the skin, which is just what you need if you’re experiencing razor burn. Some of the best oils to experiment with include olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil.

The bad thing about razor burn is that you’re likely to experience it regularly, especially if you have sensitive skin.

On the plus side, once you find a home remedy that works, you’ll know exactly what to do when it gets you down.
