Cold Weather Acne: It’s Real

Does your acne get worse during the winter months? Are you wondering what you can do to prevent this from happening until the weather begins to warm?

There’s nothing worse than having your acne under control all year, just to find it take a turn for the worse alongside the weather. Should this happen to you often, here are some tips you can use to fight back:

• Drink more water: The cold winter air is dry, which impacts your skin. By drinking more water, you’re able to keep your skin hydrated.

• Moisturize: Use an all-natural moisturizer that won’t clog your pores. When combined with drinking more water, you’re on the right path to keeping your skin hydrated and healthy.

• Don’t take hot showers: Yes, a hot shower feels good during the cold winter season, but it’ll drain your skin of moisture. Furthermore, if you over wash your skin, such as by showering several times per day, it increases the likelihood of developing cold weather acne.

As you can see, a big part of preventing cold weather acne is keeping your skin hydrated. If you’re successful in doing so, it’ll help keep your skin clear this winter.
