Do You Have a Sore Neck? Don’t Wait to Take Action

If you’ve ever experienced a sore neck in the past, you know how it can impact your life. It’s difficult to sleep, a challenge to do your job, and next to impossible to partake in physical activity.


Fortunately, once you know what’s causing your sore neck, you can receive the treatment necessary to regain your former level of health. Let’s take a look at some of the most common causes:


•    Muscle strain: This is the most common cause of a sore neck. It can result from many things, such as spending too many hours at your computer, sleeping on it wrong, or participating in contact sports.

•    Nerve compression: For example, a herniated disk in your neck can put pressure on your nerves. And when that happens, you can expect to experience soreness, among a variety of other symptoms.

•    Worn out joints: As you age, the joints in your neck have the tendency to wear down. And when that happens, it can result in osteoarthritis and other conditions that result in soreness, stiffness, and other side effects.


•    Lack of movement: All of your muscles need regular movement to be happy and healthy, including your neck. Start moving more of you more often throughout the day, spending less time sitting and more time in motion.


While these aren’t the only potential causes of a sore neck, they’re among the most common. Once you know exactly what you’re dealing with, you can obtain the treatment necessary to manage your pain and hopefully put it in the past soon enough.
