How to Treat Teeth Sensitivity at Home

It’s an understatement to say that teeth sensitivity is uncomfortable at best and extremely painful at worst.

Furthermore, if you don’t take the right approach to treatment, you’ll continue to struggle with this ailment. It’s not likely to completely go away on its own.

While you can always visit your dentist to discuss your concerns, it’s often best to first consider a few home remedies. Should you be willing to go down this path, here are some ideas to experiment with:

• Desensitizing toothpaste: This is the first place to start, as these products shield nerve endings from irritants, such as sugar and cold beverages.

• Salt water: You can use salt water to treat more than a sore throat. It’s also effective for sensitive teeth, as it’s an antiseptic that reduces inflammation. Get into the habit of rinsing your mouth with salt water at least twice per day.

• Green tea: Green tea is used to treat a variety of ailments, with sensitive teeth at the top of the list. Find an unsweetened green tea that you enjoy, mix it daily, and use it as mouthwash several times per day. Not only does it reduce inflammation, but it can also strengthen your teeth. It’s a win-win.

From mild to severe teeth sensitivity, these three home remedies have been proven effective.
