How to Prepare for Spring Allergies

Even though we’re a few weeks out from the official start of spring, it won’t be long before you’re spending more time outdoors. And as you try to enjoy yourself, there’s a chance that spring allergies will bog you down.

Fortunately, with proper preparation, you’ll know exactly what to do if you find yourself in this position. And best yet, you can treat your allergies without taking medication that puts your head in a fog for hours on end.

Here are some ideas to consider:

•    Nasal irrigation: As soon as your allergies kick up, consider using saline nasal irrigation to rinse your sinuses.

•    Use a HEPA filter in your home: This can go a long way in trapping common allergens, such as pollen and dust, that are sure to send your allergies into overdrive during the spring months.

•    Use your AC and/or a dehumidifier: Both of these remove moisture from the air, which reduces the growth of mold and mildew that can worsen your allergies.

•    Change your clothes: Once you come indoors for good, change your clothes to ensure that you don’t introduce allergens to your home.

These are the types of tips you can follow to prepare for and treat spring allergies. Once you find something that works, stick with it so you can enjoy the warmer weather.
